Dancer/Choreographer/Teacher

Dancer

I am a strong, versatile dancer who learns quickly and takes instruction well. You can rely on me to always commit 100% to the movement and/or character, and to bring a mature performance quality to the stage. I am reliable, mature, confident and well-organized. Performing is my passion. I believe it is the dancer's job to bring the choreographer's vision to life and to communicate that vision to the audience. I can adapt quickly and pick up almost any style of movement. Click here to see a list of my most recent performances.

My specialities include: Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Character, Musical Theater

Choreographer

Choreography is my passion, second only to performing. Through fifteen years of teaching, I've had amazing opportunities to choreograph for all ages, abilities, and genres. I've choreographed for competitions, musicals, concert stages, showcases and recitals, and I've received five awards in the process. I'm tremdously inspired by music, by works of other choreographers and by the performers I'm working with. And, after 15 years I've also developed a solid understanding of my own choreographic process, and I have learned how to recognize the strengths and meet the needs of my dancers. I find many choreographers inspiring, but at the top of my list are: Stephen Petronio, Alonzo King, Dwight Rhoden, Travis Wall, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, and Jiří Kylián. If you are looking for a choreographer, I can help. Click here to see a list of my most recent choreography awards.

Teacher

I have 16 years of teaching experience, spanning all age groups, ability levels and genres. I received my Teaching Certification in Dance, Grades K-12 from the State of Michigan. I have an energetic and engaging personality in the classroom. I balance discpline with fun, ensuring that my students have at least one moment of success each class. I learn my students' names and I come to every class fully prepared, working from self-created lesson plans that arc an entire dance season. I focus on teaching students, not simply telling them to do a series of movements. If facilities and schedules permit, I will go an extra 10 miles for my students, videotaping and critiquing in class, showing clips of other performances, sewing costumes, building props, cutting music, and other special projects that may arise. I can teach all age levels and dance genres.Click here to see a list of my most recent teaching positions.
